Medical device manufacturer improves product development and compliance with Oracle Cloud PLM
A global leader in prescription drug development, medical device manufacturing, and clinical trial logistics, this client is one of the most well-known life sciences providers in the world. The organization first teamed up with Inspirage in 2014. At that time, Inspirage began helping this client with its Product Compliance processes, using Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) as a platform. Agile PLM helps businesses manage activities associated with product innovation, new product development, planning, scheduling, and engineering. Agile PLM was leveraged to help address compliance matters, particularly those governed by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), which had issued a ruling requiring medical device manufacturers to place unique device identifiers (UDI) on the products they assemble.
But with the development of Oracle’s Cloud PLM platform, the on-premise application was becoming obsolete and soon service updates would no longer be available. This, combined with the innovation and investment Oracle was dedicating to Cloud PLM, created a compelling platform for the future of our customer’s product lifecycle management and compliance teams. As a result, the client strategically committed to, and in the process of, moving these and other legacy PLM platforms to a uniform and consistent Oracle PLM Cloud instance, helping drive standardization of processes, global product collaboration, and product deproliferation and re-use.
