Integrating Oracle EBS to Planning Cloud with Confidence

Innovation Blog Series: Oracle EBS to Supply Chain Planning Cloud Collections Orchestration

For some customers, the first step when moving to the cloud is migrating from the on-premise Value Chain Planning (VCP) module to Planning Cloud. On-premise Value Chain Planning provides a seamless integration between on-premise EBS Planning and on-premise VCP Planning. Because the process of uploading data gathered from the EBS source to the on-premise planning application is not a pain point, existing on-premise Oracle Planning customers expect a seamless integration between on-premise collections and Planning Cloud collections. Unfortunately, there is no standard solution available. To address this limitation, Inspirage’s solution ensures data collected from Oracle EBS is transferred to Planning Cloud and, most importantly, transferred with the right parameters.

Operating Planning Cloud with the accurate and reliable data

For those moving to Oracle Planning Cloud, the Oracle patch provides the ability to extract and transform data from the EBS source instance. Of the three phases of the data integration process, Extract – Transform – Load (ETL), the user is still required to handle the loading of the data. You may ask, but then how are the files moved from the application server to the Oracle Universal Content Management Cloud server and then used to launch the programs in cloud? And how does the destination instance – Planning Cloud – know whether the data needs to be uploaded in Target mode or Net Change mode?

For example, a user could be concerned about whether previously collected history could be lost if shipment history is collected over the last few months and uploaded in Target mode. Inspirage’s solution addresses this concern. Our integrated solution allows data to seamlessly flow from the source instance to the destination instance, giving businesses confidence that Planning Cloud is operating with the most current data.

Transferring data to the cloud seamlessly

When moving from on-premise to cloud solutions, many of our customers have these same questions and concerns about their data:

  • they are not sure if their data has been moved to the cloud server,
  • they are not certain if the files have been uploaded to Planning Cloud, and
  • they are not sure if the files have been uploaded with the right parameters.

Inspirage developed a seamless Orchestration of Collections from Oracle EBS to Supply Chain Planning Cloud solution to calm these fears. Our solution takes care of transferring data from EBS to the cloud seamlessly using Oracle Integration Cloud.
